GET TO KNOW BALUS AERO

The company was started out of a desire to build something that was unique and special to the founders of the company, Scott Starick and Dan Morris. With over 60 years of combined experience, they felt they had something special that they could bring to the table that no other aeronautics company could. The fact that Balus Aero is still around after almost 10 years, indicates that there are others that appreciate what we offer and we do not take that trust lightly.

Why the name “Balus Aero”?

Scott was born and spent most of his informative years in Papua New Guinea where his parents were missionaries. In the local trade language, “Tok Pisin”, the word for airplane or bird was “balus”. Scott has always had a fascination with flight as almost everywhere he went in the highlands of PNG required an airplane. Scott would spend hours at school with his friends, who were mostly sons of MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship) pilots, sketching profiles of all kinds of WWII planes and, back in the day, knew a lot about all of them. He still has a copy of Jane all the World’s Aircraft book and still enjoys thumbing through it.

This time and place in Scott’s life has had a lasting effect, and has heavily contributed to who he is and who he has become. To honor his birthplace and his Christian legacy, Scott has name his aviation company BALUS AERO.

"Your goal is our focus"

The kestrel, one of the smallest birds of prey, is renowned for its tenacity, often taking on creatures twice its size. It also had a God-given talent to be able to hover on a very light wind for long periods of time waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

Balus Aero has incorporated the kestrel into our logo as our company has many of the same characteristics of our namesake bird. We maintain a sharp focus on our clients' needs, and time and time again, we have stayed the course to provide a product they are pleased with and we are proud of being associated with. Our client’s goal is our focus.
